A VRF system is a complete climate system. VRF stands for Variable Refrigerant Flow. This means that the refrigerant and thus the capacity within the system may vary. A VRF system consists of one or more outdoor units and multiple indoor units. Using the VRF system, a high quality installation with a realized individual controllability and comfort with low energy consumption are combined.
All indoor units are equipped with an electronic expansion valve. This allows each indoor unit, according to the difference between measured and desired temperature, to control the capacity per individual room. In other words: the temperature of the supplied air is indirectly adapted to the demand in the area. The inverter controlled (frequency controlled) compressor in the outdoor unit can exactly provide the demand of the total capacity of all indoor units. This superb technique of the VRF system provides high efficiency in energy use.
